Biogas & Bioenergy
Bioenergy technologies include all processes through which biofuel and biogas are produced. Bio-refineries are designed for production of liquid biofuel from organic raw materials, bagasse and other plants. Biogas derives from anaerobic degradation of organic products such residues and biomass converted in biogas through fermentation process. Regenerative thermal oxidizers RTO are specifically designed to destroy the pollutants from the process gas through thermal oxidation at high temperature.
Recuperative thermal oxidizers are composed by a main combustion chamber for thermal oxidation of pollutants at high temperature with an integrated heat recovery system.
Direct thermal oxidizers are composed of a combustion chamber in which the process gas is injected directly and the pollutants are oxidized and neutralized through combustion.
In the catalytic plants the oxidation of organic substances is carried out with lower temperature using high-performance base-metal and precious-metal catalysts.
Activated carbon is an inert solid adsorbent material used to remove contaminants from process gas streams.
SCRUBBERS AND WASHING TOWERS
Scrubber and washing tower plants are used for the removal of volatile organic VOC and inorganic VIC compounds, using water and additional chemical reagents for the abatement of pollutants.
WET AND DRY DEDUSTING
Dust separation from process gas can be performed through wet and dry solution depending on the specific application. Venturis and sieve tray scrubbers are used to remove solid and sticky particles from exhaust gas streams through the interaction with water. Static filters, bag and cartridge filters are used for separation and collection of dry dust and particles.
SCR DENOX PLANTS
The most effective process to eliminate nitrogen oxides NOx is the selective catalytic reduction SCR composed by special catalytic elements operating in combination with injection of ammonia or urea.
Gas venting means to relieve pressure and release in the atmosphere the waste gases that cannot be processed. Gas flaring is the process of destroying through combustion the waste gases that cannot be processed, to make the plants safe in emergency situations, reducing the risks for infrastructures and operators of chemical and petrochemical plants, including wells, diesel production, refineries and hydrocarbon processing plants.
